Vestas won two orders in the US totalling 589MW, pushing the Danish wind turbine OEM’s intake this year beyond 10GW – a figure it has never previously reached this early in the year.
The first order is for 359MW of its V120-2.2MW turbines for a wind project under development by an undisclosed customer.
Including previously purchased V112-3.45 MW components, the project has a total nameplate capacity of 400MW.

The order includes a 10-year service agreement.
Turbine delivery is planned for the first quarter of 2020 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2020.
The manufacturer also secured a second order for 230MW of its V136-3.45MW turbines in a 3.6MW power-optimised mode.
Including previously purchased 2MW components, that US order has a total nameplate of 241MW.
The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines as well as a 20-year service agreement. Turbine delivery here will begin in the second quarter of 2020 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of next year.
